Maurice returned to the club in 2004 after an absence of ten years when he went to the dogs - literally.
A former open racer with the club, Maurice had a sparkling career with his demon sprint, and even today not many will pass him on the last 200m of any race.
By his own admission, he tends to dislike hilly races, and concentrates on the flatter routes.
